RE: https://aoir.social/@sakhavi/117271612063305533 All that creativity hoovered up to train LLMs and they're still not making these guys better bullshitters. I could have bullshitted a better cover story *in my sleep*. An *evidence-based* bullshit. That's the power of a social science and humanities education. 🍵

RE: https://mastodon.social/@merlinwisdom/117271638899075320 But I don't know yet, and that's why I have to go sniff it. It could be startling in there. It could be the informational equivalent of a bible in my front uniform pocket in ten years' time in a trench I never thought I'd be in, or the guitar chord you play over and over in your head, or a murmuration of starlings. I mean, how on earth would I know until I get there? Who honestly knows in the moment wh...

The one major flaw in Cyrano de Bergerac (1950): No one can suspend enough disbelief to buy Jose Ferrer as anything but deathly, unimpeachably hot (and also the Emperor of Known Space). Like, yes, Cyrano's a bit of an asshole, and I probably wouldn't want to share an art scene with him long-term, but no one's kicking an expert fencer-slash-slam poet out of bed on account of a nose.

Belgian journalism cooperative Apache is going to be testing Bonfire as a space for its readers, inspired by #Jacobin work in Germany. Independent media building community spaces where readers and journalists can meet, participate, and connect across the fediverse. This is the kind of social web we want to support. Their ongoing diary of leaving big tech is worth a read (in Dutch): apache.be/vaarwel-big-tech

Kommt doch aufs gleiche raus.

Dear friends of der kleine grüne Würfel: We are thrilled and very happy to announce the newest release by die nmi! (aka @herr_irrtum) on our nice and friendly #netlabel. It is called "Total Club Destruction". And yes, that more than lives up to the title. Just killers, no fillers, even the "Zwischenspiele". But listen for yourself: https://www.derkleinegruenewuerfel.de/en/releases-en/die-nmi-total-club-destruction/ Released under :cc_cc: :cc_by: :cc_sa:...

Just shortly stopping by, to announce that we hopefully will record an EP at the end of this year. We wrote some nice punk songs - with a twist of course. And as I'm here: I'm still taking a break from the fediverse. Life has been a bit rough in the last month and I needed to shut the virtual doors. There are times, when I suffer from information overload. So please forgive me, if I'm not that chatty at the moment.

"Man proudly bragging about how he gamed the system" is so cute in 2026. Oh, the dealer gave you such a big discount? You made out like a bandit on black Friday? You had everything fixed right before the extended warranty expired? You saved how much with that coupon code? You know a guy who can do this for half the price? Wow. Go you!

I would need to use public transport on at least nine days a month for the #Deutschlandticket to be worth it.

In mehreren Iterationen.

This week I've updated my game from a couple of years ago, Oust, to a new 1.2.0 version. There's a few bug fixes and quality of life changes. Today I restored the editor for download after making another little test asteroid field with it. It was a nice way to take my mind off the unpleasant heatwave here for a little bit. https://drake-blue.itch.io/oust #pico8 #indiedev #EnglandIsNowATropicalCountryTakeUsBackTaeScotland
