My microwave emitted a loud displeased electric burp, a bright flash, and began wafting out smoke from near the magnetron, so safe to say my oven is cooked 😔 I've attempted a fair number of DIY electronics repairs, but I draw the line at high voltage capacitors that can zap me to the perma-nappy, so goodnight sweet prince to that microwave

You deserve an explanation, so please don't skip this 1-minute read. It's Tuesday, September 29, and our fundraiser won't last long. We know that—at the Foundation—we were donating to union-busting firms. If you've lost count of how many times the WMF has decided to screw around with its editors and employees, we don't blame you. We wanted you to forget our missteps after Framgate. But we never said that we wouldn't engage in union-busting or overr...

I've given Elementary and Pantheon a chance, and I'm sorry to say that I'm unfortunately not staying. It just is too buggy for my liking, from broken gestures to broken styling system-wide, among other things. I think I'm going to go back to Arch and Sway. Edit: I ended up choosing Labwc instead due to a lack of support for NVIDIA-open with Sway. #elementaryos #linux #archlinux #swaywm

In this, the first day of the post 'Tim Apple' era, new CEO John Ternus has a chance to make his mark and move on from the inauguration donations, golden trophies and Melania screenings. What will he decide, I wonder? https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/trump-apple-lake-ontario-9.7327014

@heliomass this has been a minor ongoing controversy since he got into office. Although I personally prefer standard Canadian English, there are so many alien American spellings that have crept into everyday life in Canada that I am very happy for the prime minister to go #FullBritish, if only to balance things out a bit.

Mark Carney apparently had the time and energy, between today's EU state of the union in Strasbourg and his own speech in Strasbourg tomorrow, to leg it up to Liverpool to meet with the British PM and take in a bit of the footie. Seems like quite the character, this prime minister of ours 😮 #cdnpoli

I love how Radio-Canada's baseline assumption is that you would never even think of going to watch a huge prestigious international event happening in your city and that your only interest in life is knowing where you can go vroom vroom with your car. #Montreal #Montréal
