  • I see people in my urban neighborhood walking for exercise with lead-weighted vests, and my only thought is, "Bruhs and sistas, WHY? What are you trying to do?" Just walk with a backpack full of books to the cafe on the other end of the hood, and you can survive the apocalypse like the rest of us. No need to give Cabella's more of your waning money.

  • Got a final 10 day notice from the landlord as a "gentle reminder" that if we're still here after the 12th they'll start eviction proceedings Tried telling her that we've been applying to move somewhere since AUGUST. Got the expected "well that sucks. Hope you can figure that out" reply I'm so tired

  • Oops sorry I've been quiet I've been super sick since Monday the 28th In the few hours I've had awake each day though I've been working on building a "90's internet TV station" for my next big video project By which I mean I've now taught Windows 3.11 to accept *real-time video streaming* over a network. Like Twitch or YouTube

  • With GrapheneOS now unusable to connect to my car, my bank, my insurer, the school of my kids, my watch and now PayPal, I'm pretty close to admitting defeat and re-installing stock Android. I don't like it, but I see no choice. I can't reorder my whole life just to stick it up to a shitty company.

  • @foosel I just stumbled upon https://bubbles.town/entry/42573337 , but was surprised that it's neither on the top of https://foosel.net/blog/ nor in the raw RSS stream. This is more a question regarding understanding bubbles' algorithm (and effects on other blogs), but can you tell if this is because you removed that post and it stayed in a cache or maybe because you edited an old entry and it picked up the editing timestamp?

  • Anyone knows how to back-up and de-DRM ebooks from a Kindle? All tutorials i found actually re-load them via the Kindle Windows app or other ways instead of directly from the device. These are books bought of Amazon in the past and still readable on the device, but due to unfortunate circumstances deleted from my account, so I can't re-download them.

  • I now know that 40min of microwaving a lasagna has quite some consequences beyond making it a bit dry to the taste. Kids: Never a dull moment.

  • @KathiCat@troet.cafe Geht mir mit meinen Space Shuttle auch immer so. Fühle mir Dir.

  • @KathiCat@troet.cafe auf dem Park & Ride Parkplatz am Weltraumbahnhof vielleicht?

  • The amount of development effort put into software these days, because users aren't willing to learn a single bit is absolutely breath taking. Probably one of the reasons why progress is slowing down. Software essentially needs to tell people what to do these days while people told it what to do back in the early days (70-90s).

  • My favourite JavaScript framework will always be Netscape Communications Server. There can only be one number one 😘

  • The most successful software development method is the way the Linux kernel is built and maintained. Learn from that and not from your certified scam master asking you to sprint to your cubicle.

  • Danke @wolf Du auch

  • Corporate IT is pure insanity. You need to totally don’t give a fork to survive that.

  • People make up corporate jargon and it often feels like mental. You should never care about that, otherwise you’ll go insane.

  • There’s companies in which 80% of the IT department doesn’t have a technical education or even the basic skills. This is completely wild.

  • contemplating being normal this morning

  • shout out to my dad making me buy a Canada Savings Bond when I was 12 or something, with a $100 I would have preferred to spend on buying a GameCube or something, only for me to forget that it existed, then get a letter about it much much later, and be told now on the phone that it is worth a big $134, but because it's lost I will have to spend a non-refundable surety fee of $30 on it, plus fill out no less than 3 forms, and mail my shit back and forth to Ottawa

  • heard some music and stepped out onto the balcony and a man was just dancing by himself on the sidewalk in front of my house while listening The Power by Snap! on his smartphone. totally blissed out you've heard it before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BRv9wGf5pk

  • if anyone still has copies of ANY of the audio from G7 Welcoming Committee Records' podcast from circa 2007 you would make my day I think it was called #G7Radio it was so funny. were they hamming it up or did they really hate each other that much :boost_ok: :boost_ok: :boost_ok: boost OK especially to media hoarder friends, who are punks, and probably from an anglo-Canadian background, and maybe usefully from #Winnipeg #AskFedi #ObscureMedia #LostMedia #G7WelcomingCommittee #G7Welco...

  • often, I do not wish to fave the post (do not wish to be perceived) but I would like to fave My Beloved Mutual for boosting it
