I mentioned that having post deletion on, I’d be finding some way to compile and pin my #abstract #photography edits. I signed up for pixelfed and will be stashing everything there, so if you missed some or wanted to get another look at some, I’ll be uploading the various abuses of double exposure I’ve got in my camera roll over the next few days. Feel free to go follow me over there. https://gram.social/VestigialLung

Is it just me, or is the #deathcore scene somehow more of a minefield for those of us who’d like - at a minimum - their music to not be made by outright Nazis or serial rapists than the #BlackMetal scene? Like sure finding a new black metal band does mean that you’re playing find the hidden Nazi, but the Venn diagram between deathcore vocalists and sexual predators is disconcertingly close to a circle. Also why is it always the vocalist? #metal

#caturday

If property legally comes with responsibilities ("Eigentum verpflichtet[...]", Art. 14 (2) Grundgesetz), then why is there no automatism to expropriate irresponsibly handled property? E.g. if I as a landlord leave a house standing empty, why do I not automatically lose ownership over it, rendering squatting it legal? If I as a supermarket throw away edible food, why do I not lose ownership over the "trash", rendering dumpster diving legal? These are rhetorica...

For this week's jukebox music theme, A Wider World, here is a wonderful NPR Tiny Desk Concert by Los Mirlos, a Peruvian cumbia band. Cumbia is originally a genre of folk music from Colombia, but later developed a fusion with Peruvian Andean music, Cuban percussion, and electric guitars. It became popular with workers in the Amazonian regions of Peru. Let Los Mirlos get you dancing along to their Tiny Desk concert here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCh4tfSqXFc #JukeboxFridayNight #AWide...
