Question: Do any/many video games use QUIC or does everyone still roll their own custom reliable UDP?

Any PE+PDB experts? I'm trying to map disassembled call instructions to their PDB defintion. I've got code that finds calls for a given file/line. But I can't get the function address to correlate with PDB data. RVA/SectionOffsets are ballpark but off. For example: .text has a virtual address of 69632 The call target address is 75717 But according to the PDB the function lives at 72112 or section offset 2480. Been chipping at this for many hours. Missing something :(...

Maybe unpopular opinion: I wish Mastadon had an “algorithm”. I struggle to find content here I wish to engage with. Maybe unpopular opinion 2: I want a local LLM to classify content and filter out all things even vaguely political/culture war. Following accounts is hard because people post a variety of content! Many posters I want to block half their posts and see the other half!

I made a VSCode extension that uses PDBs to provide GotoDefinition intellisense support. Verified to work with Jai, C++, Rust, Zig, Odin, and Nim. Should work with *any* compiled language that makes PDBs. Intrusive thoughts are good, actually.

This afternoon's project is complete - I've successfully set up a wireguard server on an old Pi that I wasn't using any more. 😎

I've finally caught up on the #TourDeFrance highlights. For what it's worth, here are some thoughts: - I don't understand people who say that Pogi makes the race boring. There's so much more to the TdF than the competition for the yellow jersey. - That said, he is unstoppable when he decides to go for the stage win. - It's great to see some new riders coming forward, now that the big beasts of the 2010s have retired. - I hope Vingegaard races next year, b...

Oh no, I'm falling down the #selfhosting rabbit hole. I set up a VPN on a #raspberrypi on Sunday. I bought a small form factor PC from ebay on Monday. Tonight I've been comparing networking options, and debating SAS vs SATA hard drives. Send help.

My touring bike's front wheel suddenly started to make a horrible clicking, rumbling noise today. Not good. I'd never had the nerve to do it before, but thanks to St. Calvin at Park Tools I managed to open, clean, and re-grease the front hub this afternoon. It was surprisingly easy. #biketooter

Just a reminder for anyone in #Horsham Andy at AD Cycles is a magician and cyclists will be immeasurably poorer when he retires.

Ohai #France, great to see you again. I hope you don't mind me saying that you're incredibly hot. Because of human driven climate change.

I'm trying to find guidelines for writing alt text for chemical structures and the Google Scholar search for "alt text chemical structure" is embarassingly bad. The top 9 results show up because of the text: "alt text is not available for this image," which is just layers of awful. #accessibility #a11y
