We just left the appartment we've been living for the last 3 years. Everything ended in the nicest way possible, the landlady was happy with how we took care of the house and our friends accompanied us until the last day. Unsolicited but greatly welcomed, they helped fill the void that emptying your home generates. Now—on the train leaving the region that where we grew into our marriage and found community—I feel something within me longing for tears. Those would be tears of appreciation, tears of how good it has been, tears for a home and the friends we made. I foresee very little time for processing these emotions in the next few days. Moving to a different country is a weird beast I haven't faced since a time when choices were "things that happen to me" instead of a manifestation of preference. #lifelog #thought #writingtherapy
