Dutch startup Respyre makes moss grow directly on concrete building facades. No soil, no irrigation, no pruning. The moss lives on rainwater and humidity. A 2025 lab study found moss barriers achieve 41% PM2.5 and 47% PM10 reduction. Field tests captured 45,580 particles per mm2 on moss surfaces. Compared to algae bioreactor facades (Hamburg's BIQ house) and ventilated moss filters (CityTree), plus UCL's BiotA Lab panels. A survey of the whole field. https://hermez.prose.sh/bioreceptive-concrete-buildings-that-grow-their-own-greenery #GreenBuilding #Moss #UrbanHeat #SustainableArchitecture
