Drone attack on Sumy, Poltava and Chernihiv regions
On the evening of May 2, 2026, Russian occupation forces launched a massive drone strike across three regions of Ukraine. The Sumy region suffered the most, with 20 drone impacts recorded in various settlements. Specifically, six drones struck Lypova Dolyna, four hit Romny, and three targeted Mykolaivka. In the Poltava region, strikes were reported in Zavodske, Lubny, Shyshaky, Pyriatyn, and the regional capital. The most powerful attack occurred in the Chernihiv region, where ten drones struck the city of Pryluky.

UAV flights have been recorded in Poltava region towards Velyka Bahachka, Kremenchuk, Myrhorod, Hadiach and other settlements. In Kharkiv/Sumy regions — 6 UAVs from Pysarivka towards Kolomak. In Kharkiv — 3 UAVs north of the city.
