There's one more point I'd like to make before wrapping up this excessively lengthy thread, and that's the value of #NFT simply as an abbreviation. The world of #finance scams and #investment gambling etc. is a world ruled by magical thinking. Again, desperation is the cause for this: only desperate people need to chase after get-rich-quick schemes and thus they're inclined out of desperation to believe in unlikely miracles. At least in the "Western" mindset, the notion of #magic is intimately mixed up with the idea of the spell, which in its ideal "Western" form appears in a zillion works of fiction, like in Harry Potter: a short incantation that produces a desired instantaneous result. The #crypto shills and #NFT fanboys in Dan Olson's video, and in his related video about the weird GameStop meme-stock phenomenon, sure seem to be surprised when they run into people who just don't want to bother treating with them and their neverending blithering about money. "Don't you want to make money? No? Have fun staying poor! When I'm rich I'm going to make a special point of not helping you." etc. They have a special condemnation of those who oppose their avarice on moral grounds, who are repelled by the idea of success on their mercenary terms. RE: https://seattle.pink/@mxchara/116939030038236316 This topic of valuing winning more than anything else is still on my mind, and I found myself drawn (once again) to the Dan Olson #NFT video because even though the video has become outdated (for the blockchain-scam ecosystem has evolved in response to harsh public scrutiny) the video is still such an excellent glimpse into a culture of swindlers that otherwise I wouldn't get anywhere near. The closest I can say I've been among such people is when I was regularly on Twitter and hurling bombs at Elon Musk and others. (cont'd)

I don't remember how old I was, in my "real life" memories that begin to seem hardly any less arbitrary than my fictive exo-memories, when I definitely made up my mind that winning was for chumps. There was Reagan as a big example, a guy who "won the election" and yet he was still clearly a slightly dazed looking actor reading lines. Some ghastly crime had been done upon the United States and its inhabitants, a murky gang of cronies and henchmen were really in charge of things, so how much of a winner was Ronald Reagan? And it didn't help that Ronald Reagan, or perhaps it was his wife Nancy, was really into fitness and athletics. He wanted to whip some competitive spirit back into the people. (cont'd)
