Day two for the Melania movie in Ottawa. Not a hit for date night: Landmark Kanata 12:25 - 7 3:15 - 4 6:40 - 5 9:15 - 2 Note that since the beginning of the week the two seats at the extreme right end of the front row (the worst viewing positions possible) have been unavailable and are likely not sold to customers. Landmark Orleans 1:20 - 6 4:10 - 2 5:30 - 0 10:15 - 0 Note that the first two and second two showings are in different theatres. In the first two showings, two seats at the extreme right were unavailable since the beginning of the week so likely not sold to customers. Alexandra Petri's takedown of Melania (the movie) is brilliant. Lots of folks are roasting this weird doc, as they should, but Petri shows real human empathy for the incredibly damaged person who would spearhead this - and that empathy itself is the most brutal indictment possible of this fascist propaganda. "MELANIA IS A HORROR MOVIE The first lady is trapped, and she doesn’t seem to know it." Paywalled (the Atlantic) but this link is on Apple News, so anyone with an iPhone gets it free.
