Looking into some public domain stories I could read (and record) for spooky season. One early possibility is Mary Shelley's The Invisible Girl. The story is about 5.6K long. QPrompt estimates a read time of 51 minutes. I read a bit faster than it suggests. Neither here nor there, though.
One of my editing tools reminds me if a sentence is longer than 40 words.
Just about every paragraph of The Invisible Girl has at least one sentence that goes well over that limit.
