@culturalgutter@mastodon.online TIL I learned not only have now TWO #StudioGhibli films been adapted to traditional #Kabuki (with fan approval), but also … #LupinTheThird?! It's like #SunRa told the Arkestra, playing the Old Masters isn't about copying the NOTES or the SOUND of the Old Masters, it is about copying their INTENTION, and what was shocking in 1926 doesn't cause much fuss in 2026.
