📺 Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S1 (2022) I just finished Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 1 I'm watching Star Trek in timeline chronological order so I finished the first two seasons of Star Trek Discovery then came straight to Star Trek Strange New Worlds season one. After watching Discovery for two seasons, which is very serious and big and heavy and OMG CONTROL IS GOING TO KILL ALL LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE, watching this crew bounce around doing random adventures felt... kind of goofy at first. But after a few episodes, I was into it and really enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the Spock and T'Pring thru line. 📺 Star Trek: Discovery S2 (2019) I just finished Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 This is the 2nd time watching Discovery and I think I was unfair on my initial watch. I was judging on how much like ST:TNG it was but this is a different, new thing and I really liked it. I really like the characters and while the story telling is different than ST:TNG, it's still good in it's own right. 📺 Star Trek: Discovery S1 (2017) I just finished Star Trek: Discovery Season 1 So I'm going through a re-watch of Discovery. I think I appreciated it more the second time through. My original complaint was that it didn't feel like Star Trek The Next Generate, which is what I grew up with. But upon reflection, I think the Discovery crew also has a strong moral compass and are doing the right thing, even when it's hard or against the rules. Honestly, I think the thing giving me that feeling is there is more like personal drama. The personal drama between Bernam and Tyler for example just has no equivalent to TNG.
