Two pristine hummingbird hawkmoths in the walled garden this afternoon. It was interesting to see the enthusiasm for Ceratostigma. An even bigger surprise was that Dianthus carthusianorum was highly favoured. #moths #HummingbirdHawkMoth

My first time seeing a Hummingbird Hawk Moth. It's little wings buzz fast like a hummingbird's - this photo was taken at 1/2000 of a second but hasn't frozen the wings completely - and they fly sideways and even a little bit backwards at times just like their namesake. Quite exciting to see one, really! #Nature #NaturePhotography #Insects #moths #HummingbirdHawkMoth
