Learn a German word with impetus today: Hitzefrei. Literally translates as „heat free“, and means you should get time off from work or school or whatever you do because it is simply too hot. #hitzefrei By the way, if shouted, the word becomes a weapon: HITZEFREI!

Als ich in die Grundschule ging (1976-1980) gab's das ersehnte #Hitzefrei an den außerordentlich wenigen Tagen mit mehr als 27 Grad im Schatten. Letzte Nacht war um halb zwei noch hitzefrei mit 28 Grad. Aber ja, alles ganz normal. #Hitzewelle #Klimakatastrophe

Ab 35 Grad ist ein Büro laut Arbeitsschutz "nicht mehr geeignet". Ein Klassenzimmer mit 25 Kindern? Voll geeignet. Es ist einfach unfassbar, wie sehr sich die Politik und Unternehmen da die Hand reichen! Es muss ein ziemlich wackeliges System sein, wenn die Privatwirtschaft kollabiert, weil Eltern wegen Hitzefrei ihre Kindes eher nach Hause müssen! #40IstDasNeue30 #Hitzefrei
