Replying to @jwildeboer@social.wildeboer.net
Devices like cameras, audio recorders and players, grooveboxes etc with a RF (Royalty Free) option in their firmware. Or designed exclusively to create RF media. No vendor lock-in. A whole ecosystem based on unencumbered, #ForeverMedia, shared by default. Yes, I am #AlwaysTheOptimist. 2/2

With the MPEG4 Part 2 Visual patent pool being exhausted due to expiration and the same happened with MP3 and other standards, my #Steampunk mind wanders to creating retro devices that are built around these now royalty-free standards. With Open Hardware and the assurance that all pictures, videos, songs you create will be usable for forever, for free, for everyone. I call it #ForeverMedia because that's what I mean. Media that can be used, reused and archived until forever minus one day :) 1/2
