CD City. As seen in my profile banner. I was looking for something to do with a broken CD player and thought of making a diorama of sorts. I imagined opening the player and a tiny city magically pops up. I couldn't achive the magic or popping, but I did scratchbuild a city at the smallest scale I've worked at. #Scratchbuilt #ScaleModel #Diorama #DrH #CDCity

More angles of the CD City. Including the service station on the bypass (gotta build bypasses...), and a subway that makes use of the headphone and power ports with track and a train peeking out. #Scratchbuilt #ScaleModel #Diorama #DrH #CDCity

CD City. As part of the theme of opening a CD player and finding a tiny city, I modelled the water of the sea pouring out of the (now open) front. I'm sure the boats will be fine... #Scratchbuilt #ScaleModel #Diorama #DrH #CDCity

Flying above the CD-City is an advertising blimp. Clearly inspired by those seen in Blade Runner. I tried various ways to attach the blimp, some more/less visible, and a range of sturdiness. I opted for a sturdy clear plastic rod that is held in place with a magnet. This allows it to be removed for transport and the like. Have you travelled to the off-world colonies? #Scratchbuilt #ScaleModel #Diorama #DrH #CDCity

To the left of the CD City, over the river, there is the industrial complex. Less dense and no high-risers, the more factory-looking buildings are surrounded with car-parks and are accessed from the city by bridges. #Scratchbuilt #ScaleModel #Diorama #DrH #CDCity
