the population of Rhyothemis fuliginosa (butterfly dragonfly) has been declining, I spotted a small group including two females flying about in a location where I hadn't seen them before. the females are not only darker than the males but also differ slightly in hue; this one appeared to have a greenish-gold tint mixed in (2 photos) #dragonfly #butterflydragonfly #nature

this one has a coloration similar to a male, but it's darker, and the tip of its tail appears to be a female. since I had mostly posted photos of males until now, glad I was able to get a good look at a female before they disappear for the season (2 photos) #dragonfly #butterflydragonfly #nature

And Rhyothemis fuliginosa (butterfly dragonfly) as usual... the color of its wings looks different every time depending on the lighting, so I find myself taking pictures of it again and again (2 photos) #butterflydragonfly #dragonfly #nature
