Andrea Dworkin would have fought transgender ideology with every fiber of her being. The women who knew Andrea best have all come out and refuted all of John Stoltenberg's claims that Andrea Dworkin was a "trans ally." Andrea was sick at the end of her life and married a gay friend for the economic security and for health insurance. After her death, Stoltenberg tried to mischaracterize Andrea's position on transsexuals and defend her against the charge of “transphobia." Martin Duberman also wrote a biography of Andrea where he also distorted her views on transsexualism and falsely claimed that she “deplored” Janice Raymond’s analysis in "The Transsexual Empire." Nothing could be further from the truth. In reality, there is an endorsement by Andrea Dworkin on the front cover of Janice Raymond's book calling the work 'crucial reading."
