"Months after congressional #Republicans refused to extend enhanced subsidies for Americans who receive their health insurance through the Affordable Care Act, hospitals across the US are seeing a surge in uninsured patients seeking emergency medical care." This is classic Republican false economy. The #EmergencyDepartment is the most expensive way to deliver care --and patients suffer needlessly from delaying care. https://www.commondreams.org/news/uninsured-emergency-room-surge #Healthcare #ACA

In any event, thanks to this database (assuming the data therein is accurate), here's an updated visualization of how much *effectuated* #ACA enrollment has changed over the course of every year since 2019. Black line = 2026. Dotted lines = projections *if* it follows 2025 or 2019 patterns.

COMBINED, that's more than 50% more this year than last...meaning that on average, #ACA enrollees are paying roughly $1,500 MORE APIECE in total healthcare expenses in 2026 vs. 2025. And yes, the vast majority of this is due SPECIFICALLY to Congressional Republicans & the Trump Regime. /END

The good news is that unlike most states, Texas actually had ~200,000 *more* residents sign up for #ACA coverage this year than last during Open Enrollment, thanks largely to their robust Premium Alignment pricing policy (which @nathanjohnsontx.bsky.social@bsky.brid.gy was a key figure in getting passed, BTW!)

🚨 IN ADDITION, tens of thousands of ACA enrollees are about to have extra COST SHARING SUBSIDIES which the state is currently providing them CUT OFF. OVERALL, to the best of my calculations, NY #ACA enrollees are paying around $100 more per month this year...and that's WITH the state CSR help.

Don't get me wrong: I'm glad to see that most voters are more likely to vote for a candidate who supports reinstating the enhanced #ACA subsidies, but I'm fairly certain that the ACA didn't exist in 1975, 1985, 1995 or 2005, and the enhanced subsidies weren't implemented until 2021, so...

On average, Georgia #ACA enrollees went from paying around $2,100 apiece last year to over $4,000 this year. That's more than a $1,900 avg. increase *per enrollee* in 2026.
