The Last Rose of Summer is a true story about corruption in #cancer research. I discovered a cheap, plant-derived drug that could replace some much more toxic (but more lucrative) therapies. #BigPharma got involved and suppressed the research. Eventually I had to publish the story in thinly veiled fiction and survive a bunch of murder attempts. "Mary Austin" is a pseudonym, as my publisher forced me to use one. So... hi, I'm "Mary." 🤷♀️

Protest Thread #109: "The Battle of New Orleans"
Trump's trashy spectacle in DC, which he apparently slept through, was met with nationwide Obama Appreciation Day activities. I was disappointed at first that there weren't big marches planned, but I understand the thinking: ratings are everything to him. We showed him we can have a much better party than he can, with much better ratings!
Where I am, we had a protest-mutual aid fair-fun fair with a whole bunch of groups.

Okay, after a whole day of Obama Appreciation Day activities I am punting Protest Thread #109 to tomorrow. BUT. You won't see the truth about Trump's shitshow in DC on the news, so I'll at least post stuff from other platforms about that.
