There is no ethical consumption under capitalism, _BUT_ you could:
Not use plastic bags for fresh produce in the grocery store,
Avoid buying prepackaged anything:
Bulk things like rice, beans can come in textile bags.
Try to buy things in bulk/by the case to reduce the packaging.
Shop at farmers markets when you can find them/afford them
Use glass containers instead of Tupperware ™
Be mindful of ordering things online, their packaging is often very wasteful.
Try to order more than one thing at a time so hopefully shipping/packaging is reduced, rather than per item.
Bug your city council to implement recycling programs and encourage people to separate their trash.
