Any other party has a better chance at winning a popular vote
Not defending them, but there is some serious doubt there. Any other party, besides republicans, put up the same showing as Linux in a Steam survey. Sure it looks like they’re growing at 100%, but it’s still only 5% overall.
Until that is broken and majority of people realize there are more than two parties, your best approach is going to be primarying and change within the party.

Bernie Sanders and AOC are about the closest you would get to a true opposition. But given that their own party keeps gimping them they can’t do much except stump for their position.
In the US, I’d argue that the democrats are a “controlled opposition” that is also subservient to the same oligarchs that have captured the republicans.

That doesn’t answer the question. What determines “$1800 worth of tokens”? Is that value calculated from computer time-infrastructure cost? Is it what they think an equivalent of work would be for the time it takes the query to run? Or is it an entirely arbitrary number?
If the last one, most likely they’re running at a loss and it’s gonna bite them hard when the bill is due for infrastructure.

What determines the value of a token? Is it Standley Nickels calculation, or did they actually attempt to tie it out to infrastructure and operating costs? If the latter, then anyone using these systems needs to be prepared for a serious rug pull as that’s squarely in “the first hit is free” territory.

Oh fuck off with your whitewashing. Majority of these AI installations are LLMs. Look at what Oracle, Grok, OpenAI, Microsoft and more have been trying to build off. It’s all an infrastructure race that is hurting us all (physically too if you look at how they’re being powered).
The sooner it collapses, the better.

I did the same thing in Germany, but the down payment was much higher so people tend to commit fully. It’s actually more of an exception in the US as people tend to not custom order as dealers have loads of new cars ready to go on the lot.
Frankly I’d prefer them to switch to a custom order model, but there are too many impulse car buyers here.

Whenever you order a vehicle, you pay a small bit down, but full purchase isn’t until it arrives. Sometimes you can get deals on custom orders that fell through at the last minute that a person didn’t buy.

I’m fine that people want to do it. I’m fine with the results of it. But man, I fucking hate that smell.

So I still don’t get where it’s “forced”. I downloaded a 25H2 ISO a couple weeks ago and installed on a VM from scratch. I chose Work computer, and under other options “Domain Join”. It asked me to create a local account…. And that was it.
The only thing I can think is it’s for “Home” editions, which you wouldn’t want to run anyway as that’s where all the testing crap goes.

Thank you, because on here people don’t shut the fuck up about it even if the thread doesn’t involve Linux. They’re as bad as Cross-Fitters and Vegans.

So… you know how Battlefield 6 requires Secure Boot and TPM enabled, which just so happens to mean you can only use Windows 11? Yeah, they’ve been priming it for a while. Soon they’ll mandate that the browsers have hooks than can read the attestation of the system like Google’s Safety system on Android, and then sites won’t even load if it doesn’t pass.

How to help EU digital sovereignty (and get out of the US at the same time)?
I am very much onboard with the idea of the EU breaking free of the US grip on data and the internet. I also very much want to get out of the US, but I’m trying to figure out how. I have extensive experience in infrastructure, networking, Datacenter’s, Linux, etc. and I’m sure that there are companies in the EU that are needing those skills. I haven’t had much luck with general job boards (unless I’m looking at the wrong ones).
So Lemmings, does anyone know of any good resources so I can help put my skill to use and get out of here while I’m at it?

They used to not be that way. I have 5 devices (couple connects, amps and plays) that I’ve kept on S1. Haven’t gotten any new features, but never lost any in their whole S2 debacle. Going 10+ years strong.

No, no. MLS becomes the NFL so there’s no confusion that it’s football.

I don’t need religion to tell me murder is wrong. And that’s a dangerous line of thinking there as I’ve heard so many fundamentalists say “well how do you know what’s wrong and right without religion?!”
