@daytonah@mastodon.social I could. The Kindle app is an optional add on. I just prefer to keep the devices separate. One for reading. One for taking notes. No friction when taking handwritten notes while reading.

My Supernote Nomad is an excellent offline e-ink note taking device. I want to have something similar for ebooks that's also privacy respecting. I wish there was a GrapheneOS device that had an eInk display, I'd use that with a FOSS eBook reader and Calibre. I like some of what Boox is putting out, but IDK how private it is. I remember getting one of these about a year ago and calling the actual PayPal support line to let them know in thought one of their mail servers had been compromised. They had a master ticket to sanitize the input of the subject line. I have it written down somewhere. Is this a case where TCS knows about the issue but can't do anything yet PayPal knows nothing about the issue because it doesn't actually communicate with the outsourcer? Not that I've ever seen that play out in real life mind you. Not once. Ever. 🙄
