It is so emotionally challenging to visit #MultiCare #Tacoma
On the one hand, they do great work and provide a shitton of care for a shitton of people.
On the other hand, #MultiCare completely abandoned their trans patients over government posturing.

As someone who's both concerned with user privacy AND spends an inordinate amount of time fighting fraud in the financial sector, this is something you should know.
It's how we keep your money safe.
It's how we keep bad guys out of your bank account.
Using proxies is absolutely your right, but we're watching for it.

I think I might personally change how I'm referring to work produced by AI after a conversation with my kids last night.
I no longer "use AI to do [x]", I'm going to start saying that "I bought a/an [x]"
I didn't create it.
I didn't use AI to create it.
I bought it. Just straight up purchased whatever it is.
Bought a risk assessment.
Bought an engineering plan.
Paid for research.

At #CapitolCityPride we saw a ton of great entries! None stood out more to me than the #IndivisibleOlympia crowd. So happy to see the things that I associate with great people like @heidilifeldman@mastodon.social also happening here!
I'm sorry to anyone I offended by bringing my negativity to the #Multicare entry. I know the people who were marching in the parade aren't responsible, but to have multicare abandon trans youth patients and then #RainbowWash themselves at #Pride was too much for me.
Ain't no anger like a cis white man finding out what it means to be oppressed.
And love for the tribes. I start to cry whenever I'm at an event with a land grant ceremony.

Agreed. Only slightly less helpful than Wi-Fi enabled laundry. You'd think, well maybe it can simplify reordering filters! Nope. That function is on a timer. Does not have anything to do with the real usage of the filter.
With laundry, it seems like it may have some utility... But then you start using it and discover how nerfed it is.
It's only good for notifications.
They set it up with a "remote start" feature that can't be used until you manually enable it. Every single time. And it only stays enabled for ~15 minutes.
But at least it tells me when the wash is done.

I had to bite my tongue to avoid saying something like "got to pay for that Iran war" when I heard about an upcoming increase in our renewal cost.

I was unlucky enough to have shingles 2 years ago along my jaw. It felt like dental surgery without anesthesia.
It's direct nerve stimulation. Excruciatingly painful.
And it can be anywhere on/in your body.

Shingles is one of the only immunizations that are live virus. I can't get the other one. 😭

On the other hand, my employer is REALLY into encouraging us all to find ways to use AI. Specially, copilot, because we're all up in Microsoft's colon.
So I did my annual self assessment with copilot.
Least effort I've spent in 9 years on this bullshit, and seems to be advocating for me getting a pay increase.

Even as someone who hasn't historically been "poor" by most standards, getting anyone in America to discuss ways we might alleviate suffering are usually swamped by discussions of how we stop having to see the poors.
Because it's seen as a moral failing.
Our puritan culture is most visible to those who've left the church. The myriad ways in which we preach the gospel that benefits billionaires.
