@nixCraft@mastodon.social Linux commands are designed to be simple and do one thing only in the simplest possible way. Adding safety nets would just make things horrible to script. Always check man dd, before running sudo dd.

@snugglybun@void.lgbt protonvpn works for me. I pay them for a package deal including a bunch of other privacy stuff, but they have a free tier version of vpn that you can try out. Windscribe is another good one that specializes in shitty government evasion.
