Reminds me of back in the early days, one of my first sells on eBay was an old iPhone. I was naive enough to not know that the purchaser could mark it as paid without actually paying. Not know how the process worked, I shipped the iPhone not realizing I was never actually paid (and never going to be). The purchaser deleted their eBay account to cover their tracks. The BIG irony... I forgot to reset the phone. I later got angry, threatening messages from the purchaser under a different account saying they would disassemble for parts if I didn't give them the password for the phone they never paid for. 😂
Point is, ya... Apple's anti-theft technology is from their viewpoint a feature, not a bug.

Some of the most generous people in this world are also some of the poorest.
Curiosity killed the... chameleon? OK, so I really want to know, did everybody get the same images with their updates, or does OpenAI just know I'm kind of crazy about chameleons? Not sure whether to be impressed or spooked if it was personalized.

@nixCraft I share your concerns around age verification in general; however, I don’t quite agree that the burden should be shifted to social media companies to do the age verification. Done right, age verification at the OS level has a better chance of privacy preservation than at the app or browser level.

First off, I love the concept of Mastodon. @jerry@infosec.exchange also does a truly great job with infosec.exchange! Sadly, while some of these critiques off of Reddit have changed, many of them are still true (or an element of truth) today...

At the risk of over simplification, the summary version of reporting on the recent Instagram ATOs is: hackers asked the kind chatbot nicely.
@campuscodi@mastodon.social as convenient as it may be, github.dev has just been one big mistake after another. Bugs aside, it’s a pretty big DLP risk many organizations don’t even know they have.
Using nanoclaw for job hunting is proving quite useful! Adding feedback to each scheduled search result keeps building meaningful context and better overall results.
