@bsides312@infosec.exchange did you know that your visible profile on Mastodon/Fediverse omits little things like your website (except social media accounts from Meta, etc) and the actual date of the conference?
Holy crap. 'Canada separatist' channels that are really just techbro-generated ragebait with hired actors looking for ad revenue. https://youtu.be/NXafC7tlqt0 #canada #alberta #separatism

I can't help but wonder how many courses are using the Reflecting Pool as an exercise in "how could a scenario like this be handled?"
Offhand I'm thinking 1) would hydrophobic coatings work? Has the Navy done any research on long term underwater applications? 2) how about ways to keep a smooth reflecting surface while maintaining enough flow to keep it from being stagnant?
In the US, the ATF is proposing that on any Federal firearm-related forms "Sex" will mean "biological gender." (Comments are open, for what it's worth: https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/05/06/2026-08932/selecting-biological-sex-on-atf-forms, relevant: https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2026-05-08/pdf/2026-09183.pdf).
This seems remarkably short-sighted. By focusing on genetics instead of how people present it's actually *less* useful in terms of identifying people - and given the political stances of those in the administration it's not like private-party firearm sales are involving a lot of paperwork anyway. All this along with simplifying the form to apparently ask for less information, and in the context of forms that will only be filled out by the same people who actually follow the law instead of the "gun show loophole" folks.
