I'm not a football fan, or maybe I just like top-level football (like everything else I like). I only watch a few important matches every four years, during the World Cup. This year the overall level has been very good, with several good teams and many good players.
The final was a great match and a well-deserved victory for Spain. But this is the first time I've seen the repercussions on #mastodon and what has surprised me is the extraordinary number of idiots there are (not that I didn't know) and the stupid ideas they have. The mere fact that they mix politics (or what they think is politics) with almost everything they do and see (the little they understand) clearly demonstrates their intellectual deficiency.
These things make me use social media less and less, or use it in "read-only" mode, so as not to waste time and energy on idiotic people.
I'll think more carefully about how to use this.

Those people who insult and hate others for using a certain platform or software... Who the hell do they think they are? What the hell do they care if someone uses X/Twitter, Bluesky, Firefox, systemd, or Windows? If you use Arch you're arrogant, and if you dare to experiment with AI you're an idiot.
But hey, you can't ask too much of most people.
This is becoming filled with unbearable fundamentalism. To the point of calling anyone who doesn't belong to their packs a Nazi.
I'm interested in people's technical work, programming, hacking. But also in lighter things like pictures of your cat or dog, reflections, humor, and memes. But I'm completely uninterested in everything else.
I'm going to say it in Spanish, which is a great language for saying these things:
"Por qué no se van bien a la mierda todos juntos?"

With one diagnosis, or two or three, you're branded crazy, sick, and there's no way around it. No matter what you do or how well you do it, you're always the crazy one. Over time, you realize that the people and environments you try to adapt to aren't worth the effort. And you stop caring about them, you stop pretending to be someone you're not and trying to do what you can't, all for the comfort and peace of mind of others. And you let everything fall apart: family, friends, relationships, clients. Even the cat, the dog, the lizards in the yard, and the rats in the attic cease to be important and worthwhile. If the basics—eating, pooping, sleeping, and breathing—are such a chore, social life can't be easy. Then you wonder if it wouldn't have been better to live and die alone, to withdraw into yourself and never come out again.

Meditation is the best resource for my brain. No medication has as many benefits for me as that. And I've had problems since I was a child.

I've been using Linux for decades and I agree; for me, systemd is the best init system I've ever seen. And just today I started reading a book about systemd for sysadmins that I found.
