@petrillic@hachyderm.io a bit of context, LEECH is parody, and the Humvee was for hacking (as in "hack the systems in this vehicle"), they had a boat too if i got my villages right. Perhaps it's all feds and collusion, but in this case the intent seemed more hacker oriented than not.

@wendynather@infosec.exchange My most unreal silicon valley moment - enjoying the best bbq at a hole-in-the-wall, husband and wife team - both older, husband had a rasta hat and dreadlocks to the middle of his back. Somewhere in the conversation (I don't even know how we got there) - he drops a deep technical analysis of why mainframe programming is better positioned for large analytic workloads compared to SQL DBs. The crazy part - the framing and his analysis - spot on. I imagine my bbq smeared mouth was open and in shock. Apparently he is a regular heckler at SQL conventions at Moscone - but settled into a life of grilling ribs. The wife, no less technical, had a knowing look as her husband launched into yet another diatribe (apparently not uncommon)

Chronovore why is it that you don't procrastinate? Well you see, early on I discovered a universal law. Not a man-made law, but one not unlike the law of gravity. The law is this: Every problem postponed, no matter how trivial. Becomes a huge problem at some un-arrived time in my life. Invariably I will be found at the intersection of exigency and immediacy, yelling into the void: "Someone made bad decisions 10 years ago and now we pay for it!". I am the inverse of a Cassandra - An Ardnassac

@mattblaze@federate.social I honestly thought the odds of the court supporting birthright citizenship was 50/50 - and from the 5/4 split, seems not to be wholly unjustified. All to say this is an appalling state of current things. Not least a bedrock principle of American citizenship being an essential coin-toss. These are dangerous times as everything, including established precedents and the constitution is subject to be radically reinterpreted by the court.

@ZachWeinersmith Both sides benefit - but all things considered, the blue team benefits a bit more for now. The challenge for defenders has always been being a small goalie tending a large net. AI makes the net a little smaller. For attackers their attacks are better in it's execution but not necessarily in it's novelty ie. phish are more believable, malicious executables fail less often. But AI is not innovating their existing attacks ie they are still trying to get a user to click a link. So while they get to take more shots, but their targets are shrinking. In short - the advantage belongs to the defenders for now. Caveat - organizations that haven't implemented security basics (user scoping, vulnerability management, asset inventories, etc) are at a significant disadvantage. Apologies for the lengthy reply.

Probably the right call... like listing a fluency in Klingon on your CV. Sure it's a language, sure you had to learn it, sure it demonstrates some amount of brain power. It's also entirely irrelevant to any standard programming role. Unless the job spec lists BF and Klingon as requirements, good judgment would advise you to leave it out.
