Every day a person wakes up locked in a box. The switch to let you out is on the ceiling, but the only thing that could reach it is a broken stick. A speaker says, "oh no! Your stick is broken? What are you going to do? Maybe you should be a Marxist, or a Christian, or keep your head down and work harder!" There's a foreign guy shouting from the next room that you're stupid for wanting to try to hit the switch because being locked in rooms is just natural, and he keeps trying to convince you the real problem is either Marxism or gay people.

You left out the best part. After he was dead there were non-participants afraid of being called cowards. They put their hands in the blood then ran outside to show the public, braggig about the kill and saying, "this is Caesar's blood!" Later, when the political wind changed, they were tried and they claimed to have been present, but not armed. Witnesses from on the street asked why their hands had been red, and hey were executed. That's where we get the term, "caught red-handed." :asuna_but:

If someone with a deeper web engineering background or other technical understanding can chime in: Just thinking from a data-usage standpoint, why isn't the web doing graphics with vectors and procedural generated textures? They can already draw the text boundaries and image locations using frames, so adding these features seems inherently lower bit-per-pixel than JPEG/WEBM. Am I wrong? :blobshrug:

🅰️ Any author of code is judged based on their own use of the existing code, so reverse-engineering of code used to be based on an engineer writing down, line by line, in plain English, what to do. Then a second person sat down and made up code, line-by-line to accomplish that task. Things have changed but the idea that you can't literally harvest existing code is still a thing.
🅱️ You own the #AI made code but can't copyright it... so you can't profit from it in the same way.

That's pretty much where we are. If someone tried to distribute the #AI code anyway there are already mechanisms for them to be pursued as an infringer for the same reasons as existing software piracy. :blobcatthumbsup:

Do we know what the consequences are for the bank failing to be able to make their money back? The #USD has a value said to be based on "faith and trust" but in practice has a close relationship with the mortgage system. Right. We have that case law. They can't do that without permission. Where this gets dangerous is the criminal side, because the cases that have to do with machines causing harm are all about cops getting hurt by traps during searches. "Guilty mind" is an almost ignored part of a lot of jurisdictions requirements these days, so you have to be able to show the human who flipped the switch understood the #AI would be breaking the law. That would be a really strange territory with all the chatter about sentience.
