I personally don't find sarcasm very funny, my flavour of neurospicy doesn't enjoy when people say things they don't mean.

I got a "welcome" email from imdb because apparently they've been bought by amazon, and I was auto signed in because I was signed into my (not prime, for the record) amazon account on this device. No interaction, only message in my email inbox. As people are talking about reinventing browsers, I would like us to think about which "features" are needed, and how to put the user in control.

They gamified the infosec training at my workplace, and added achievements, and honestly I don't hate it as a concept. I don't like the way the score displays, but I bet the credit score look is effective with the average person.

Why is it possible for me to have three different versions of outlook running accidentally? Also new outlook sucks. If it's on a tall screen you legitimately can't view attachments.

Switch Game Sale Hover or focus to reveal Sensitive
Unicorn Overlord is on sale on the switch store! $20.99 for an amazing game! Fantasy where you set up multi unit formations (up to 6 units in the late game), where each unit has it's own class with skills, and items give skills, and then you can customize the skill usage conditions for them to autobattle it out. It is incredibly cool and I love it from a design perspective! I've spent so much time in this game, if it sounds fun you should pick it up!

I'm so glad for the newest world #WorldOfWarcraft raid including flexible raid sizes for mythic difficulty. It's such a quality of life thing to be able to raid even if you have more or less than 20. It makes a giant difference even though this is only a one boss raid. I hope #Blizzard learns from how successful it has been, this could really revitalize the raid scene! Really what would be cool to see would be adding it for Voidspire, since it would be even more helpful for people in multi boss raid, since they could pug and continue if people don't show up, or have extra in case everyone shows up.

@julieofthespirits I love it, but if we are being honest Han Solo was already torrenting it lol, the change is now he can be smug as he brags about it in bars.

Once again, voting is not "The Democrats(TM) will save you". It's about working with your neighbors and going to your primaries and making it so that the person on the ballot is someone who will fight for you, rather than follow the party marching orders. You have agency, voting isn't only R vs. D.

I finally have a "hold more meetings, surely that will make things move faster" senior manager... I hate it.

@ireneista@adhd.irenes.space I don't know that I entirely agree that the decontextualizing is always a bad thing. But I can see how it feels aggressive and I will try to think on that for a while. Because I feel like a reply is kinda like, here are my thoughts on your thoughts, and then a QT is here are my thoughts on these thoughts, or on this thing that was shared. Like, it is designed for tangential offshoots kinda, and I do like those. And then I also used it to like, share my thoughts on an event or something that I wanted to share, or highlighting someone else's but adding onto it. And like, replies feel very personal and I know people get annoyed at them too. Like the way I use QTs I feel like they are less aggressive than replies tbh. Like I'm giving credit and carrying on a conversation I find interesting, but in general rather than directly at someone, which replies kinda feel like. I know replies cause people to feel kinda bombarded or trapped sometimes too.

@ireneista@adhd.irenes.space What would good QT culture look like? Like, we have (myself included) people that don't boost photos lacking alt text, and people (I need to be better) that do the same with CWs. If we wanted to be intentional with our culture around how to use QTs, I do think we have a chance at establishing something better, even if there still will be abuse. Like, at the end on Twitter I didn't ever interact with dunk QTs, or "look at this bad person" QTs, and I would have no intention to really do so here. But I think here we have a better chance on setting the culture for that to be the norm, if it was desirable, rather than on Twitter where the norms were already set.

@rowan@cryptid.cafe It stuck with me haha, from the X-Wing series, it is surprisingly good. But yes, exactly, you and your friends are having fun together, that is all that matters! 💜 (And I feel like most people who still have souls appreciate others who are having fun, even if they are being absolutely ridiculous. It is a good energy.)

@rowan@cryptid.cafe Hell yeah! One of my favourite lines is from a Star Wars book of all things: "You can't look dignified while you are having fun." Who cares about cringe 💜

@vfrmedia @hisham_hm On a related note, I really wonder how many people know that California has had a program since 1982 where employers pay a small additional payroll tax, and then companies apply for money from that tax fund to perform additional training, new hire training, and some of it goes towards apprenticeship training as well. So it forces companies to deliver training if they want that money back. And I'm pretty sure it has contributed to the stength of the California economy.
