mastodon 4.7.3Author, Blogger, YouTuber, Indie Game Dev. ADHDer for life
#ScribesAndMakers May 28
Our next featured creator is a serial writer. Have you ever written serials?
Does Wattpad count? If yes, then I have a few that I'm writing (I should probably get back to those, but there are more urgent things occupying my very limited brain cell capacity)
#ScribesAndMakers – 18th May. If someone were to write a character based on you, how often would exclamation marks be warranted in your dialogue?
Not a lot. You would think with ADHD and Bipolar, there would be a lot of opportunities for exclamation marks, but social anxiety, RSD, inferiority complex, insecurity and general introvertedness cranks it back down to near zero
Finally delisted my books from D2D yesterday. So as I work on some YouTube stuff, I'll be sharing the links to my books starting today. So keep an eye out for that
#ScribesAndMakers 15/5: What's going well with your creative work so far this month?
Funnily enough, despite being tired with life, I still have enough brain power to come up with ideas for Spirit's Blessing. So at least I'm not burnt out/depressed. Also, ideas have come in for my game as well, but that's on the back burner.
I really need to start streaming, but I'm still hesitating about how to run it.
#WritersCoffeeClub 5/24. What do you need in order to finish your current WIP?
Energy, money, coffee. Not necessarily in that order
#WritersCoffeeClub 14 May: For characters, plots, ideas, settings, etc: how much is too much?
I would say anything that doesn't contribute to the core story point is too much. Characters, ideas, settings, plots etc can always be added, but if they don't make sense in tandem with what the story is about, then they can come across as pointless or filler. Just a bunch of rambling that we let into our writing.
#WritersCoffeeClub Day 18. With whom do you wish you could share your work but can't?
So when I was younger (7-11) I used to live in the US (Marshall, Minnesota if you're curious). And I had a few friends that I got along with as I had just moved there from Kenya. Also an art teacher who was really awesome. We lost touch after I had to move to New York as my mom got a new job.
#WordWeavers May 16
Would your WIP still work if you changed the gender of your MC?
Kinda, and not because of the actual plot. Because it's a harem (and MC is male), it would either be a yuri or I would have to regender most of the characters.
#PennedPossibilities 1031 — Are you satisfied with the genre(s) that you write?
Absolutely. I know fantasy has a weird reputation (especially romantasy). But being influenced by Pokemon, Narnia, HP and Septimus Heap, creating worlds that could be has always been something I love.
And tbh, as much as I suck at lore building (Legends of Signaia made that painfully obvious), the creativity and whimsy needed for a fantasy story is clearly there.
#WritersCoffeeClub 5/17. If you work exclusively digitally, could you work by hand? (_Or vice-versa!_)
I could, if you're okay with a chapter coming out every 10 years rather than the current one year.
All jokes aside, I actually started out writing by hand. In fact, the first two or three chapters of Alliances were initially hand written. I just have a habit of losing/forgetting things (ADHD for the win) so I took long to release stuff. Well, longer than usual.
I really should record. Like there's nothing stopping me from recording. I have everything I need to record. Yet I'm really hesitant to record. Am I overthinking things or am I just being lazy?
So Spirit's Blessing was supposed to be a spicy harem smut romance. But I'm not very good at writing either spicy content or smut. So now it's a harem romance.

#WordWeavers 13. What role does non-romantic love play in your story?
So it plays quite a huge role. Between the elf guildmaster and the earth great spirit, there is an argument that a romantic love just doesn't make sense with an adult human (25-30 year old male). So I'm leaning more into the maternal love and fascination with what some might consider a lesser being.
Waiting on Kobo to publish my books, and then I'll share the link here. Still have no idea what I'm going to do with IngramSpark, but I think I'll give up on it for now. But at least I have an alternative to D2D and Amazon that is relatively international, and that really helps out. Sucks I have to attach it to my Payoneer account, but that's something I'm willing to live with.
#WritersCoffeeClub 5/13. _Follow-up_: if writing was not your "thing," what would your "thing" be?
Singing/music. So I wanted to be a professional performer, with a focus on jazz/R&B. I love music, but I'm still not confident in my stage presence (or my voice and song writing). But those are things that can be fixed with time.
#PennedPossibilities 1033 — Would you or have ever considered writing a MC with mental illness? How would or did you approach the subject?
I've considered writing one with ADHD, but I'm not sure how to go across it. Still tossing ideas around in the old noggin to see if something sticks
Writers’ Coffee Club for 29th May 2026
29. What (in terms of writing) do you fear?
Two things
That people are apathetic to my writing (they just don't care about it even when they read it)
The great wall that is me not knowing what to write
So the problem with going into an oversaturated niche as a content creator (in my case Pokemon/video games) is that it's extremely hard to stand out. People have their go to creators, and rarely switch (unless they get caught up in a scandal).
Part of my issue is that I was heavily influenced by Chuggaconroy. And if you've ever watched his videos, you'll know that a lot of research goes into them. Which can be overwhelming at first
#PennedPossibilities 1020 — Does your MC consider themselves to be outdoorsy or do they prefer to stay inside?
My MC (name pending) is based on me, and I'm an indoors kinda guy. I don't mind going outside, but you have to give me a very good reason to do it.
#WritingCommunity #FantasyAuthor #ADHDAuthor #SpiritsBlessing #WIP
#PennedPossibilities 1015 — Were any of the scenes in your WIP inspired by your own experiences?
Yeah. So Spirit's Blessing is kinda a way for me to deal with unresolved feelings from university that I couldn't follow through on in another story.
#WordWeavers May 15. What type of writing (novels, shorts, poetry, etc) comes more naturally for you?
I think novellas would be the best. Too short for me to ramble, but long enough for me to get my ideas across.
RE: @MisWiredKE@toot.community
Yeah, so if you want to grab my books through any of D2Ds affiliates, you have until the end of this month.
But if you want to grab Awakening through non D2D or Bezos sites, it is finally up on Kobo and you can pick it up there or any of their affiliates.
And if you like (or hate it) don't forget to leave a review
So recently YouTube has been showing me shorts of a streamer who has every governmental force (American and international) just chilling in his stream chat.
And what I gather is that either I should be worried or I'm a furry
So, I've kinda hit a wall with Spirit's Blessing. I'm struggling with naming characters, and writing with just their roles is keeping me from actually planning an outline.
And since I do need to start streaming, would you be interested in a stream where I get opinions on names for different characters?
The MC has two sources of misery; the great earth spirit and women. The former almost got him kidnapped by the church and the latter just make him anxious in general
Okay women, I need help.
I'm doing research into women's clothing as I like putting their favorite clothes into the character profile. And the two things that consistently throw me off are cup sizes and skirt types.
So my question is, what is the difference between a mini skirt and a pencil skirt. Also, why are there so many different skirt types?
So, the consort system. I have thoughts.
So this is going to be short, since I plan on doing a blog with all of my thoughts. But just know I've been approaching it the wrong way. The consort system isn't there to choose a wife, but rather to choose a queen. If the king/prince's lover gets chosen, that's just a coincidence.
So, if you still want to grab my books off of any D2D affiliates before I delist them, this is your last reminder before the end of the month.

When I plan a team around Mudkip, I realized that the first thing I ask is who is going to be the dedicated weed killer. That Pokemon's main (and sometimes only) job is to make sure that no grass comes near my Water/Ground starter.
So yeah, want to support a creative create? Consider joining my Patreon or donating on Ko-fi. I can't promise content on a schedule, but I can say that I will release something at some point.

So I'm still working on my consort post, but can I say just how much of a political dance being a consort or queen is?
You're only chosen as a consort if you have any value, and would only be chosen as queen (or at least the primary queen) if you offer the most to king, and by extension the kingdom. Love is utterly irrelevant in this conversation.

Reminder that this is your last chance to get my books through any of D2D's affiliates before I unlist them.
But also consider supporting me on Patreon. It helps me out and allows me to focus on projects (like YouTube and Spirit's Blessing) without having to worry too much about bills.
Want to support a Kenyan creative but my books don't really vibe with you? Consider either joining my Patreon or donating on Ko-fi. It really helps me out as I work on my next book and videos for YouTube.
