When I plan a team around Mudkip, I realized that the first thing I ask is who is going to be the dedicated weed killer. That Pokemon's main (and sometimes only) job is to make sure that no grass comes near my Water/Ground starter.

#PennedPossibilities 1031 — Are you satisfied with the genre(s) that you write?

Absolutely. I know fantasy has a weird reputation (especially romantasy). But being influenced by Pokemon, Narnia, HP and Septimus Heap, creating worlds that could be has always been something I love.

And tbh, as much as I suck at lore building (Legends of Signaia made that painfully obvious), the creativity and whimsy needed for a fantasy story is clearly there.

So the problem with going into an oversaturated niche as a content creator (in my case Pokemon/video games) is that it's extremely hard to stand out. People have their go to creators, and rarely switch (unless they get caught up in a scandal).

Part of my issue is that I was heavily influenced by Chuggaconroy. And if you've ever watched his videos, you'll know that a lot of research goes into them. Which can be overwhelming at first

So I'm still working on my consort post, but can I say just how much of a political dance being a consort or queen is?

You're only chosen as a consort if you have any value, and would only be chosen as queen (or at least the primary queen) if you offer the most to king, and by extension the kingdom. Love is utterly irrelevant in this conversation.

So when I was younger (7-11) I used to live in the US (Marshall, Minnesota if you're curious). And I had a few friends that I got along with as I had just moved there from Kenya. Also an art teacher who was really awesome. We lost touch after I had to move to New York as my mom got a new job.

Okay women, I need help.

I'm doing research into women's clothing as I like putting their favorite clothes into the character profile. And the two things that consistently throw me off are cup sizes and skirt types.

So my question is, what is the difference between a mini skirt and a pencil skirt. Also, why are there so many different skirt types?

The MC has two sources of misery; the great earth spirit and women. The former almost got him kidnapped by the church and the latter just make him anxious in general

So, the consort system. I have thoughts.

So this is going to be short, since I plan on doing a blog with all of my thoughts. But just know I've been approaching it the wrong way. The consort system isn't there to choose a wife, but rather to choose a queen. If the king/prince's lover gets chosen, that's just a coincidence.

Not a lot. You would think with ADHD and Bipolar, there would be a lot of opportunities for exclamation marks, but social anxiety, RSD, inferiority complex, insecurity and general introvertedness cranks it back down to near zero

I could, if you're okay with a chapter coming out every 10 years rather than the current one year.

All jokes aside, I actually started out writing by hand. In fact, the first two or three chapters of Alliances were initially hand written. I just have a habit of losing/forgetting things (ADHD for the win) so I took long to release stuff. Well, longer than usual.

I really should record. Like there's nothing stopping me from recording. I have everything I need to record. Yet I'm really hesitant to record. Am I overthinking things or am I just being lazy?

Would your WIP still work if you changed the gender of your MC?

Kinda, and not because of the actual plot. Because it's a harem (and MC is male), it would either be a yuri or I would have to regender most of the characters.

Yeah. So Spirit's Blessing is kinda a way for me to deal with unresolved feelings from university that I couldn't follow through on in another story.

I think novellas would be the best. Too short for me to ramble, but long enough for me to get my ideas across.

Funnily enough, despite being tired with life, I still have enough brain power to come up with ideas for Spirit's Blessing. So at least I'm not burnt out/depressed. Also, ideas have come in for my game as well, but that's on the back burner.

I really need to start streaming, but I'm still hesitating about how to run it.

So Spirit's Blessing was supposed to be a spicy harem smut romance. But I'm not very good at writing either spicy content or smut. So now it's a harem romance.

#WritersCoffeeClub 14 May: For characters, plots, ideas, settings, etc: how much is too much?

I would say anything that doesn't contribute to the core story point is too much. Characters, ideas, settings, plots etc can always be added, but if they don't make sense in tandem with what the story is about, then they can come across as pointless or filler. Just a bunch of rambling that we let into our writing.

#WordWeavers 13. What role does non-romantic love play in your story?

So it plays quite a huge role. Between the elf guildmaster and the earth great spirit, there is an argument that a romantic love just doesn't make sense with an adult human (25-30 year old male). So I'm leaning more into the maternal love and fascination with what some might consider a lesser being.

Singing/music. So I wanted to be a professional performer, with a focus on jazz/R&B. I love music, but I'm still not confident in my stage presence (or my voice and song writing). But those are things that can be fixed with time.

Waiting on Kobo to publish my books, and then I'll share the link here. Still have no idea what I'm going to do with IngramSpark, but I think I'll give up on it for now. But at least I have an alternative to D2D and Amazon that is relatively international, and that really helps out. Sucks I have to attach it to my Payoneer account, but that's something I'm willing to live with.
