@stefano This is a good thing. While the mindset thinks using AI - as in LLM’s - is okay, they won’t understand the BSD’s. When they are ready - mature enough to understand the BSD mindset - they will reject the LMM’s first and from that everything else will follow.

Front screen of my Pixel 9 fold has stopped working. Almost certainly a hardware failure. I flashed from @GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social back to stock Android and the problem persists. It takes ages to boot now as well. Probably probing for hardware that doesn’t respond. It’s back running Graphene but WhatsApp refuses to get past the Welcome screen despite switching all the protections off. I’m not sure if that is hardware or software so the plan is to reflash to stock Android and see if WhatsApp works. Not that I like or want WhatsApp - my networks use it and moving them to @signalapp@mastodon.world is a slow and arduous process. I’ll see how much it costs to fix the Pixel. The inner screen works okay and it will make a good media player and a portable SSH machine if I plug a keyboard in with stock Android. Not what I wanted but what I’ve got.

I wonder why Tuchel is getting such a roasting from people who couldn’t manage running a bath, never mind an Under-7’s 5-a-side team. This includes former players who have never managed or coached. If Tuchel’s substitutes had worked and England had seen the game out, these same people would be hailing him as a tactical genius. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

All sorts of network shenanigans this weekend. My limited knowledge of VLANs and my fantastic ability to forget things very quickly got me into trouble again. All fixed now and fully documented. Anyway. Proxmox server wasn’t responding - taking out the Ethernet cable and plugging it back again after a few seconds cured the problem. Start with the simple things first.

I’ve just come to the realisation that I’ve spent the vast majority of my life bored out of my nut.

Downloading my FaceBook data and the nuking my account. It was suspended for a good long while. Twitter in the next few days - I’ll run @cyd@infosec.exchange on it and then close my account. And finally Instagram. Facebook was great in 2008. Post that you are watching something on TV and other people would chip in and the jokes start. Nowadays you can’t be sure anyone will see it and if they do it might be hours or days down the line. Fucking useless for users, great for advertisers. I do judge anyone still on Twitter. And Instagram went the same way as Facebook due to being owned by Facebook. Trying to get people shifted to @signalapp@mastodon.world is not easy but I’m working on it.

My @thunderbird@mastodon.online filter rules are doing a very good job. When Thunderbird is not running I see lots of “business related” emails on my phone but when I run Thunderbird the emails disappear. I send an email back informing that their email was deleted unread and so will all subsequent emails. The rules run after @spamhaus@infosec.exchange and SpamAssassin. Email is becoming useful again.
