he/him. So many interesting things to know and do. At the moment, spend my free time as an #OpenBSD hacker, #Perl programmer, and fan of pockets.

On #OpenBSD, the update process every six months is: # sysupgrade # sysmerge And as needed: # syspatch # pkg_add -u What are these processes for #FreeBSD?

Anyone know of a list of the most common security screws encountered in different countries or just in general? It seems like something that should exist.

@ajlewis2 @stefano i didn't spot it in the replies, but https://www.shellcheck.net/ is so helpful. A local version is probabaly available in your favorite package repository. Not only do the errors tell you how to fix it, the wiki has in depth descriptions of why. Like any tool it is sometimes wrong (usually when you _want_ token splitting IME) but it helps so much.

@migy@chaos.social I've also heard good things about the https://peculiarium.com and the Japanese Gardens, but although we keep saying we should we never seem to make it to either.

@migy@chaos.social most of the suggestions I have are to go eat the large variety of good food we have available. Obviously Powells City of Books is the biggest attraction. Most of the other big things are nature related, and harder to get to like Multnomah Falls. Hiking in Forest Park is more convenient and pretty though. We also have things like OMSI and https://vintagetek.org/ it really depends what you're looking for. A day spent wandering shops in one of the neighborhoods like 23rd or Alberta can be fun.

@mjgardner @leonerd ya, even two Linux distros will be painful, not to mention the BSDs, or some of the more esoteric systems perl supports.
