  A big thing that's been stopping me from going vegan is that I was trying to imitate the taste of animal products, instead of accepting that it wasn't always possible. Once I realised that, I could let go of cow milk in tea and actually enjoy oat milk tea for what it is: a different drink. I had no problem doing that with meat, but for some reason it's been much harder with milk in tea, and with eggs.

  @polymerwitch Just thought about this—in support of what you said about hosting your own server: isn't it ludicrous for the author to assert *anything* about what people (don't) want, and about what's inevitable, based on what, ten years of data? We're in the early stages of the Internet, who knows what people actually want, who knows how culture will evolve.

  I spent a bit of time prototyping an idea for a turn-based (board?) game mechanic in space, with gravity and inertia. Not sure this would make a fun game, but it was interesting to do

  very happy to have contributed my first module to NixOS 😊 I've never been a big open source contributor, but adding stuff to nixpkgs and NixOS has been a pleasant and rewarding experience.

  @shriramk Yeah that's totally fair. I think it can be nice if you enjoy having a kind of "separation of concerns" between various aspects of social media presence.
