have been thinking a lot about how AI technologies + their rollout feel completely devoid of any asking of *consent*... especially frustrating with narratives that AI is an inevitable technology and people critical of AI are just not ‘AI literate’ enough.

teaching an intro to computing class in the fall and planning to do a collaborative AI class policy with students. Curious if others have done this and how it went! 👀 I am hoping to use it as an opportunity to share my refusal explicitly and how it’s not an inevitable technology. Ultimately the goal will be to empower students to feel agency in their learning.

hi! recently deleting instagram has super charged my desire to invest in alternative online social spaces! I’m an incoming assistant professor in computer science at Loyola University Chicago. I study electronic waste and how to build computing tools to improve processes of reducing reusing and recycling computing material 🌱💻
