This week, @koolfy made the mistake to mention Ikea now had devices supporting matter. Lengthy discussions on Signal and two visits at Ikea later, I now have most of my power hungry devices plugged to @homeassistant@fosstodon.org along with CO2 sensors and temperature sensors. I'm amazed by how easy the whole thing is, years after having deal with shelly plugs and configuring them and so on.

@lord yes! J’ai pris le 7 pour expérimenter mais le 13 est celui qui m’intéresse plus. Je voulais voir à quel point c’est hackable avant de claquer 360€

@lord 100mm ! Ah ouais d’accord. Je suis un peu privilégié à Berlin, on a de bonnes pistes cyclables à peu près partout (ou en tout cas sur mes trajets haha), du coup c’est rare de se faire éclabousser par des voitures. Pour le reste, une combi de pluie fait l’affaire, mais c’est pas le plus confortable effectivement.

I&#39;m so tired of this synchronisation every time I open Element. I love the idea of Matrix, but every operation is met with friction (and this is without a self hosted server - I killed that one months ago -, trying to be as vanilla as possible).

I&#39;m super impressed with TypeWhisper. It&#39;s a small opensource app that runs local speech-to-text models. It&#39;s been fairly fast and effective in French, German and English with the Parakeet model. https://github.com/TypeWhisper/typewhisper-mac
