Made my 42nd post on my writing blog/newsletter. In this one, I talk about my summer project and reading plans. I'm adapting one of my favorite short stories into an animated movie. https://www.ingnomevation.com/newsletter-may-2026-goblin-mode/ #writing #blender #animation

Deck 1 is mostly roughed in, so I started on Deck 2 and the support vehicles. I might need to double the crew size though. I added some people for scale. #Blender

More spaceship work. Minor tweaks, but I color coded the room types so I can visualize the layout better. #Blender #spaceship

3D modeling my kid's D&D character. It's a good way to test my skills. Good against tutorials is one thing, but good against the living... #blender

In gaming news, I used AI to help me set up Steam on Fedora KDE so we can get Deadlock going on the laptop. It works now, but runs like a potato, so I ordered more RAM. That seems to be the root problem. A swap file helped a lot though. Soon I'll be able to play with both kids at the same time. #gaming #linux

Starting to test out my low poly skills for ground scenes. First pass isn't quite what I imagined, but it's a good start. #blender #blenderart

@belghast@gamepad.club I ran around the house yesterday making the kids look at a almost totally dark phone screen. But that dark circle is the moon! And Earth and the Sun is on THE OTHER SIDE! Yeah dad, that's cool. :)

Deck 1 is mostly laid out now. Still gotta do the bridge though. I'm having fun 3D sketching in #blender with simple planes.

Ever since going through a Blender "Modular Dungeon" tutorial, Base building games have lost their appeal. I can do more and have more freedom now. #blender #gaming

Got my March writing newsletter out just under the wire. Not as much writing this moth, but I did model and animate a locomotive. https://www.ingnomevation.com/newsletter-march-2026-hot-springs/ #writing #blender

The kids and I have been playing Deadlock. It's fun so far, but I've just been playing bot matches to get a feel for the characters. Gotta jump into some real games next. I like Billy, Abrams, and Dynamo well enough, so I have a starting point. #gaming #deadlock

Just posted my January Newsletter. A day later than usual, but oof, life. https://www.ingnomevation.com/newsletter-january-2026-ice-season/ Day job has been crazy lately, and I spent the past two months diving into the horror genre. Now time to get back to editing my WIP. I'm still looking for good horror podcasts, either about the genre, or stories in the genre. I prefer the paranormal (x-files style) over slasher.
