@stefthepef The crazy thing is that equivalent cars are cheaper in the US than in Europe. We shipped our BMW to Europe because buying the same one used there would be more expensive than even the shipping cost. https://www.jalopnik.com/2135759/are-cars-cheaper-in-america-than-europe/

We have pulled the trigger on replacing our Citroën Xsara Picasso with an ECO-qualifying car. Another BMW i3? A newer EV? Nope. A 2005 Chrysler Grand Caravan powered by sweet, juicy LPG gas. It is hilarious that this van has lower emissions than a newer Citroën with an engine almost a third the size. Additional fun fact. With this one, I think I have owned at one point or another cars with pretty much all mainstream “alternative” fuels. Only one pending is CNG. #weirdcarmastodon

@humanhorseshoes It has 189,000 miles, but the engine was replaced about 40K miles ago 🤞 The better part is that we bought it from a friend who I fully trust, and he drove it for 10 years.

RE: https://weird.autos/@autocade/116465071985222501 How soon before Opel, Citroën and (ouch) Chrysler became Chinese like Volvo and MG?

I can't help but feel really sad. The Tesla that I babied for so many years is sitting in some auction lot, covered in grime. I can see all the little things that I installed myself: the wrapping, the wheel cover, the spoiler, the rims… If the internet is to be believed, it just sold for a whopping $1200. That is about how much I paid for the ceramic coating 3 years ago, guaranteed to last at least 5 years. FXXX Elon. https://bidmotors.bg/en/tesla-model-s-2014-5yjsa1s10efp53683
