#ad Gagneur is my new non-dogmatic, feminist typeface, inspired by classic French typefaces, but without ever referencing them. It’s been a while coming – I introduced it in 2020 – but I think it was worth spending a little extra time on. It’s whatever impression Garamond, Granjon and many others have left on my visual memory, filtered through my fingers and turned into something that I think of as beautiful. https://tinytype.co/type/gagneur

It’s the first proper sunny Friday of the year and I’m feeling in the mood for a cute banger and— oh! Whoop. Here’s one, and that’s me in the music video. From three years ago: https://youtu.be/dU45oLj9ffU

Here’s a neat find: the readout of an EMG machine (electromyograph), where the print hand never lifts – the backtracked part is where the printer, presumably, feeds it out and back in again to draw the impulse. And I think it also does this for the letters at the top. Hyperconnected script – ultraconnected – panconnected. I like it.

RE: https://typo.social/@nettewerk/116309517292959205 I’m a very hands-on learner. I learned the web from the web, and I learned type from type. I learned how to write by reading and writing, and I learned how to cook by eating and cooking. We all understand that that’s how it works. I’m not special. Generative AI tools take away every aspect of learning that I can think of. What are you gonna make next? What have you learned?
