  @sebsauvage Also (and sorry to reply in English), Tesla also has other sources of pollution. Where I live in the US, a large portion of our electricity is generated from coal and natural gas. So you could say that in this region, a Tesla is a coal-powered car

  @GIMP super excited about this! BTW, who has control over when the new version makes its way into the Linux Synaptic package manager? Is it you or the folks at Debian? I always feel that software on Synaptic lags quite far behind it's most recent release

  I literally do not understand the spending of so much money, electricity, people-hours and computational time on something that gives mediocre unreliable results. I still don't understand why we have AI, it seems like a really bad ROI #AI

  @cwebber yeah. slop hucksters will only ever see their short term goals succeed. 5 years on, it will become evident that their code has security holes, their fiction has plot holes, and so on. The legit creatives who do their work themselves are the ones whose work will remain standing

  @organicmaps wow GH blocked you?! That's crazy! Did they give a pseudo-reason at all? I would love to move off GH myself. But I don't want to self-host forgejo - I don't have the time or expertise, and #Codeberg is missing a critical feature: ability to filter searches by programming language. So despite wanting to move off GitHub I do not feel that any alternatives are currently at the point that I would want to use them @Codeberg

  @jzb for real pls educate me on this. I made this exact switch recently, it was because I wanted to use something that had an ad blocker built into its core. I do not want to consider ad blockers that are extensions. What would be a better choice of browser with built in core option to use as blocker? Yeah I don't like the crypto focus of brave but i can toggle off the brave rewards and other crypto stuff in settings

  @jelte oh wow thank you, that's wonderful! I'm very happy that the feature to filter by language is built in - but I'm even more surprised that it is not in the filters pull down. I think most users won't be aware this is possible because it's not in the pulldown options. I want to move to Codeberg but I plan to wait until language filtering is in the pull down.   Tab auto-fill on #Linux which has been around for ages, has done way more for me than any #AI or #LLM ever has. And tab autofill is purely algorithmic. There's nothing more powerful than hitting the tab key and going "you know the one I mean!"

  @aartaka I do not like tailwind either. It's basically inline css, and you always wind up with a whole bunch of classes on everything. I much prefer W3CSS - it's built-in classes work pretty well for a lot of stuff, and it's extremely easy to define your own classes for custom things. That way the HTML does not wind up with too many classes on every element

  @malwarejake agree, although I see it more often in software than in ppl using it in everyday life. For example, in firewall or .htaccess documentation you see those terms a lot. I would love to see them use other terminology. In the case of IP addresses for a firewall, you could have an allow list and a deny list
