  Woooo hecking yes \o/ the True 100% Zero-Copy Fast Path for Wayland SHM sharing over virtio-gpu works!! This has been kind of an open side-quest for me for like a year. Finally was motivated to actually-just-do-it by the fact that on Xen it's actually easier to use "guest" memory rather than "host" (wellllll, I guess "in a clean upstreamable way" only, actually) and we'll need guest support for that and upstreaming said support will need a KVM-based demo so...

  Absolutely hilarious, can't believe it actually happened… I went to read @expede 's great article about a deadlock prevention library and it uhhhhhhhh deadlocked my Firefox?? Clearly Mozilla should look into adopting surelock 🙃 (Well idk if it's specifically a deadlock but it freezes. One time it actually crashed and I sent a report to Mozilla.)

  Hahahaha turns out the I/O errors seen with SD cards in UHS mode on Snapdragon laptops were because the device tree was set up to effectively overclock the SD host controller… to double the frequency!! because the "original" clock source was used instead of the "divided by 2" one. It still mostly worked, I only needed to reinsert microSD cards a few times to get past the initial errors! :D
