    UWP ≠ Electron. UWP is a new environment inside of Windows with new APIs, but AFAIK is still native or at least much closer to it than electron.

    Yes and no, Fairphone has actually managed to reverse engineer some of the drivers for its old phones to provide android upgrades years after the component manufacturers have dropped support.     Yes and know, 10 started with telemetry that was just about impossible to disable right out of the gate.

    Windows 7 came out in 2007, if I remember correctly. That was a time when it wasn't that uncommon to have a computer without an internet connection. Telemetry also wasn't really a thing, either - when you had crashes or usage data the OS thought might be useful to Microsoft, the OS actually asked you, and understood that no means no. Honestly, those were better times in that regard...
