Massive new territory opened up today! I ran circuit simulations in Falstad and LTSpice, for the first time ever. On Mac, LTSpice is a... vibe :D As in LoL, and LMAO. And yet I am remarkably unbothered by this anti-UI. In fact it's refreshing in a very particular way. And most of all, woot! Woot woot!! My inverting Schmitt trigger oscillator is oscillating!!!

Morning musing on how the authorship of books doesn't seem "scale". You can have many more ppl collab on a theater piece, music, a movie, a computer game, with a clear effect. A book is typically carried by much fewer people? Maybe this makes books a more intimate and personal medium? And maybe it's that sort of intimacy that I'm looking for in indie games/movies, and small live gigs?

In one version of our future, masses of people will be suffering from de-skilling, cognitive decline, and mental health issues - from constant AI use. They will be in a financial trap too, as AI costs will be forever going up, but they will be unable to function without it. There will be a way to undo the damage, and it will be a lot like fighting nicotine addiction. Rehabilitation will be a big issue in society.

just splendid. i clicked on "more" in the AI summary in a google search. that makes my browser max out 3 CPU cores and gobble up 15% of the GPU. sure, google, let's fuck up a perfectly functional frontend that could be plain HTML just to... what exactly? reveal half a page of already-downloaded content?

Under-the-radar late night launch: RSS Parrot is live! It talks like Mastodon, but it doesn't walk like Mastodon. BUT! It will relay any RSS feed straight into your timeline. Turn Mastodon into your very own feed reader. Follow anything that has an RSS feed and get a toot about new posts. How? Mention @birb with the address you want to follow. More details at https://rss-parrot.net. Boost for visibility :) #RSS #Atom #FeedReader #Fediverse

Asking the Fediverse hive... Do I know someone in/around Nürnberg who could lend me an old-school cathode tube (CRT) TV from Thursday to Saturday next week? It needs composite video (or SCART) input. edit: we have found a TV! thanks for all the boosts & replies 🩵

Oh, hello #PortfolioDay! I create generative visual art with code, sometimes on screen, sometimes on paper with a pen plotter. I also enjoy live-coding performances, and art in the medium of electronics. Most of my work is open-source.

I see a lot of talk about various EU govs considering age verification laws for social media. How has this worked out for Fediverse instances in the UK & AUS? What would the implications be in Germany?

Having gotten a glsl shader to run on a Raspberry Pi... A late night wild idea. How hard could it be to build it on a 10-year-old phone running #postmarketOS? It was not hard at all! Wild Lissajous curves from the command line on a Samsung Galaxy A3. @anna_widera I am endlessly grateful for the amount of fun I'm getting out of this device thanks to your generosity.
