Dylan&#39;s one of those performers whose songs I like but whose performances of them I mostly don&#39;t like. Give me The Byrds (among others) any day, except for, say, Subterranean Homesick Blues. Anyone covering that&#39;s just kissing up.

It&#39;s good and necessary to teach the public about these things, but it&#39;s also an asymmetrical competition.
