<p>Been using computers since they were 8 bits. Generally like those and 16 bits better than what we use today. Have too many games and too little time. Playing around a bit with Linux these days - both on Pi and as desktop and on Steam Deck. Always used and loved the "wrong" platforms, so you'll see me talking fondly about things like Amiga and Dreamcast with zero shame. <br />I try to keep politics to a minimum and just have fun on here - but no promises! No QT.<br />Also: Currently learning Japanese.</p>

I should figure out a fast way of sending a website to links2 instead of keyboarding shortcutting my way to it. So many sites are just an absolute plague these days, but links2 just strips all the crap and shows the text.

Sometimes I worry that having an autoimmune disease will eventually cause me to ignore something serious, because there's ALWAYS something feeling off or hurting. Currently wondering if I am just getting a feedback loop of nasty symptoms that makes it hard to get rid of them, or if there's a more serious root cause. But stress from everything could definitely also be the reason. Sigh. #AutoimmuneDiseases

@IbenChristiane@helvede.net Det er også præ-internet, hvor man ringede op til en anden nørd, der havde en computer med et modem koblet til sin computer, der bare kørte BBS-software 24/7 (typisk). På sin vis virkede det lidt som Fediverse. BBSet snakkede sammen med andre BBSer og de afleverede beskeder til hinanden både den ene og den anden vej. På den måde nåede beskeder langsomt hele verden rundt, men det kunne tage et par uger, før man så et svar på en tråd i Australien eller USA :)

Af og til kan selv internettet føles ensomt. Når jeg er overvældet, opsøger jeg menneskelig kontakt, men internettets asynkrone natur kan næsten føles isolerende, når man føler et behov for bare at snakke og føle, at man ikke er alene, selv om man sidder for sig selv. #danskerTrut

I have my PSVR hooked up to my PS5, but if games come out for it, they aren't surfaced for me. Since PlayStation doesn't seem to believe in PSVR2, I find it hard to care enough to get it - especially without the backwards compatibility.

@killyourfm@layer8.space I get it. All of it. I would advise to go item by item rather than category by category, though. I've listened to too many regrets when it comes to vinyl sold/given away over the years.

Currently testing Mona, but the Danish translation is so awful, I can't figure out what most of the options mean — and if there is an option to change language, I haven't found it yet. It smells like machine translation :picardfacepalm: . I'll keep messing around a bit before it's on to the next one.

@thedaemon I have no experience with 3.2, but I've had this happen with previous versions as well. The cause then was a Maxtransfer set too high during setup. Could that be it?

Whenever I&#39;ve had a need to use my Android-plaything-phone for a while, I am always struck by just how much nicer it is to use Niagara Launcher than iOS or any of the regular launchers on Android. I wanted to change the background on an iPhone to match a new cover, and for the life of me I can’t figure out how to pick one of the built-in options without having to set up all widgets all over again. Apple explicitly hints that I should hold down on the locked screen, but that only seems to let me access everything BUT the background.

Pretty bonkers experience tonight. I have Fedora on its own drive next to Windows on my desktop. I've mostly kept it around because I have pre-paid game pass for a few more months. But... I've been spending most of my time in Fedora - including playing my games. Today I rebooted to try a preview of something where Proton doesn't work yet, and ... my PowerA Advantage *wired* Xbox controller won't work. It's half-way invisible to the OS. Spent hours trying troubleshooting tips...

Jeg er midlertidigt på Android, mens jeg venter på lidt reservedele. Moshidon er godt nok en fin klient til Mastodon. Ice Cubes på iOS er også rigtig fin, men Moshidon har sådan et fint, luftigt layout uden det føles som spild af plads. Og så kan man give den et strejf farve, så det har jeg selvfølgelig gjort.
