Cytologist and ex-archaeologist. Will consume any media involving horror, sci-fi, fantasy, antiquity, linguistics, philosophy (especially free-will), science and psychology until it comes out of my ears. I love hiking in the nature and swimming in lakes. Trying to learn cybersecurity as a hobby with a side order of digital privacy. My musical preference is "good tunes", its type is immaterial. Near one end of "The Spectrum" but we didn't have that in the 80s so I was diagnosed as "muddled".

Watching the new “Cape Fear” and one of the characters warns that he’s only got 5% battery on an old Nokia brick phone. Dude, that’s probably a day’s worth of charge!

@TwoClownsEating@beige.party @MrAndrewD@aus.social I watched “Hot Fuzz” with my elderly mum when I flew over to the UK a week ago. This reminded me because one of the Andies tells Sgt Angel, “If you want to be a big cop in a small town, go to the modal village”. She doesn’t get all of the cultural references but she’s always fancied Timothy Dalton (who doesn’t).

I’m going to demand a refund from my university where I studied Classics. They told me “The Odyssey” was a mythical epic that constantly evolved as it passed down via oral tradition over centuries. Now I learn someone’s going to make an “historically accurate” version. I’m fuming!

Hello all. I do not want to trigger some kind of flame-war but I am just interested in peoples&#39; thoughts. Not that this post will have much reach but I just wondered how many of you out there believe in &quot;Free Will&quot;? I myself do not but seem to be in a stark minority.
