The world is in turmoil but you can still experience charming mystery. Next Saturday new Middle Grade fiction The Grey Beret's Guide to Surviving the Odds is being launched at The Little Bookroom in Naarm. The book is superbly written by my friend Anna Battese, and illustrated throughout by Erin Reeves. It is utterly magical in its whimsy and is hilarious. Book your free spot today and preorder the book. There will be cupcakes! https://events.humanitix.com/grey-berets-guide-to-surviving-th...

(Updated) Introduction time: I am a white man nearing his 50's (shhh), with an Irish heritage (Slainte), living as a coloniser on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. I am grateful for my position in this life. I will uplift minority voices and women, over white cis-het straight men of a certain wealth and standing. Grumble somewhere else if this hurts your feelings. I'm looking for upbeat people (Australian?), fellow rainbow community members (...

Something new from me from today's art class. I had been experimenting with gel plates, but this is acrylic pen directly on 300gsm cotton watercolour paper. This landscape image was taken from one of my past photographs. What do you make of it? Image description: Acrylic paint landscape. A sliver of sunset is held within swirling blue clouds above an ocean and orange sandy beach. There is a grey piece of driftwood in the middle bottom third of the painting. #TLWVision #MastoArt #paint...

Happy Photography Friday friends. On Wednesday I went to Snake Valley (on the lands of the Wadawurrung) with Out Doors Inc for an overnight adventure. We did a couple of small stops. On Thursday we were meant to do a longer walk but the van got bogged for an hour in 4wd country thanks to Google maps taking us the "quickest" way. We did not end up doing the walk. Fortunately it only rained on us a bit and we managed to push the van back out & "get outta dodge&...

Had date night. We saw The Devil Wears Prada 2. The storyline is quite thin & whilst it's enjoyable it's not ground breaking. #movies

I've had my Clivea miniata for about 3 years now and I recently repotted it as it was root bound and now it is finally flowering for the first time! Image description: Two orange and white flowers peak out of long greenery from a house plant in a bucket of soil. #PlantDaddy
