TLS Inspector 2.7.5 is available now! Due to the complexity of supporting it, we're deprecating the legacy Apple network engine (based on SecureTransport). In the next major update, TLS Inspector will remove this engine entirely, and users will automatically be migrated to the modern Apple network engine (based on the Network framework). OpenSSL remains supported. Nearly all iOS apps use the Network Framework (or the Apple APIs that abstract it), so we don't anticipate there be...

From the same developer that brings you TLS Inspector, @ecn, we're delighted to share our newest app: DNS Inspector. DNS Inspector is a no-nonsense utility for performing DNS queries from your iOS device. Supports traditional & secure DNS. Much like TLS Inspector it's free & libre open source, no ads, no subscriptions, and entirely free. https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/dns-inspector/id6470965982

In the next update of TLS Inspector we're fixing an important accessibility issue: dynamic font sizes. Currently font sizes are hard-coded throughout the app, mostly due to its age and availability of support, but now we're fixing this to normalize font sizes across the entire app & support dynamic sizes.

Heads up! TLS Inspector 2.8.1 (coming tomorrow) will be the final update that supports iOS 12 to 14 (inclusive). The next release of TLS Inspector will require iOS 15.6 or newer, which means that the following devices will no longer be supported: iPhone 5s, 6, 6 Plus, and iPad Air 1, Mini 2, Mini 3. TLS Inspector will continue to function on unsupported devices, however as the device ages root certificates will eventually expire and this will generate trust errors. We work hard to support leg...

Our website will be unavailable on September 30th 2024 at 1:00PM PDT for approximately 2 hours as we perform infrastructure changes. This will not have any impact on the TLS Inspector App.

Sure doesn't look like much right now, but what you're looking at is an entirely new codebase for TLS Inspector, that is 100% swift - end to end. At first, TLS Inspector was fully Objective-C, then we moved to a Swift-based UI and Objective-C backend. Now finally comes the time to bid farewell to Objective-C and fully adopt Swift. But why stop there? We're also moving to SwiftUI while we're at it, giving TLS Inspector's aging codebase a much-needed mode...

TLS Inspector 2.8.3 is available now. It includes a fix for how HTTP headers are collected during inspection. I'm hard at work on the big 3.0 update and hope to be able to share a testable copy with you all soon.

After due consideration I've come to the conclusion that the ability to submit feedback directly from TLS Inspector must be removed. Listening to legitimate feedback about the app has always been a guiding principle for me, but the feedback I've received recently has gone from creepy to abusive.

It's time for your TLS Inspector 2025 Wrapped! - This year you inspected an unknown number of hosts. - You encountered an unknown number of expired certificates. - Your most frequent CA was unknown. We don't collect telemetry. We don't track you. Your privacy matters.

I'm hard at work on the next major update to TLS Inspector. However, this does mean that I won't be releasing an update to support Liquid Glass or any other iOS 26 feature in the near future. I'm sorry or you're welcome.
